This course is aimed at University of Guelph employees who are regularly exposed to noise hazards at work and therefore, enrolled in the University of Guelph Hearing Loss Prevention Program.
The course includes the following topics:
- Effects of hazardous noise on hearing
- Regulatory requirements
- Noise hazard assessments
- Noise controls measures
- Use, selection, fit, and care of hearing protection devices
- Purpose and procedures of audiometric testing; and
- Roles and responsibilities under the University's Hearing Loss Prevention Program
Eligibility: |
All employees in job classification that have been identified by Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to be "noise-exposed" must participate in this training at the start of employment in the position and every five years thereafter. |
