The hazards associated with the inadvertent activation of machinery or equipment have the potential for causing severe injuries, or death. To protect workers from the unexpected start-up or release of stored energy during maintenance or repair activities, such machinery or equipment must be properly locked-out. This training outlines generic lockout procedures for the control of hazardous energy associated with machinery or equipment.
