Field work is an essential and integral part of many teaching and research programs. While the scope of work and specific activities within each individual program can vary dramatically, there are common elements and general considerations to be made to ensure a safe excursion. This session will provide a general orientation to field research planning including:
- field work plans
- general field safety
- field transportation
- insurance considerations
- international travel
- contingency planning
- other available resources
For the purposes of this training "field" includes non-University of Guelph locations outside of traditional workplaces such as the classroom, laboratory, farm/agricultural locations and/or office environment.
