This program provides re-certification for trained operators who have attended a course within the last 3 years. The session is 4 hours of theory only.
Topics covered include:
Legal rights and responsibilities in forklift operation
Safety and health hazards
Lift truck operating principles including pre-operation inspections, refueling, center of gravity and load stability
Typical controls or solutions for common problems
Course includes: Participant reference manual
The University of Guelph does not offer a Forklift Certification for New Operators at this time, but refers persons who wish to become forklift operations to courses offered through local professional trainers (e.g. Gambit or Liftow)
