Background
The University of Guelph's research, data, and products are highly valuable, which also makes them vulnerable to threats both inside and outside government. Canada is an attractive target for malicious actors who want to acquire knowledge and intellectual property, sensitive technology, and research and development to advance initiatives that may counter Canada's national security or economic and social interests.
Awareness is the first step to safeguard our science. All University of Guelph researchers, scientists, engineers, data practioners, business officers, human resources advisors, and facilities management staff are encouraged to attend. Tailored for University of Guelph researchers and scientists, the 2 hour workshop will cover security risks, precautions you need to take, and tools available to you as a member of the University of Guelph's scientific community.
The workshop aims to help the University of Guelph labs and research centres to:
- gain knowledge and tools to prevent security threats and navigate the changing security environment
-protect assets, including intellectual property
-protect research integrity
-protect the reputation of our organizations and researchers
